Accelerating Process Improvement Method (APIM) was presented by Jacobs in her book in 2005 .
The APIM considers timing the key to facilitate the "faster, better, cheaper" mantra of a day This method combines IDEAL (Initiating, Diagnostic, Establishing, Acting, Learning) Model with Agile programming methodology. It's consists three phrases:
- Pre-maturity - consist of steps that need to be accomplished in preparation for the Process Improvement effort
- Maturity - it's iterative phase, where improvements are done. It's repeat unlit organisation is ready for a more formal evaluation (audit) or for continues process improvement in another fields.
- Post-maturity - in this phase there is evaluation of improvement, audits and another form of assets, there is also place for improving process improvement work.
In next articles you can find detailed definition of these phases.
